American Association of University Women (AAUW): Selected Professions Fellowships

PURPOSE:
Annual awards to support women in designated fields of graduate study where female participation has traditionally been low. Special consideration is given to applicants who demonstrate professional promise in innovative or neglected areas of research or who practice in areas of public interest.
FIELD OF STUDY:
Architecture, computer/information sciences, engineering, mathematics/statistics, business administration, law, and medicine.
ELIGIBILITY:
Women who are citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. The fellowship is awarded for the final year of study in all degree programs except for medicine and master's degrees in engineering. See Web site listed below for further details of eligibility for students in the various degree programs. Women from all under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
AWARD:
For master's and first professional degrees: $5,000 to $12,000. For engineering dissertation awards: $20,000. The fellowship year begins in July following the application deadline and continues through the following June.
