Fannie and John Hertz Foundation: Graduate Fellowships in the Applied Physical Sciences

PURPOSE:
Annual award for Ph.D. students in the applied physical sciences (including applications to biological research) working on solutions to problems of comparatively near-term, widespread human interest.
FIELD OF STUDY:
Fields connected to applied physics, applied chemistry, applied mathematics, applied modern biology, and all fields of engineering. (See Web site for complete list.)
ELIGIBILITY:
Citizens and permanent residents of the U.S. who are registered full-time in Ph.D. degree programs in eligible fields of study. Students may apply at any time in their graduate program.
AWARD:
Stipend of $25,000 for the academic year plus a tuition allowance. (Cornell pays the balance of tuition for fellows.) The fellowship continues for five years, dependent on satisfactory academic progress.
