Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Humboldt Research Fellowship

PURPOSE:
Annual program to support highly qualified postdoctoral scholars conducting research in Germany, for stays of 6 to 12 months. Applicants propose their own research projects and select hosts at German institutions.

ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must hold the Ph.D. or equivalent degree and must be less than 40 years of age. There is no citizenship requirement. Humanities scholars should have sufficient proficiency in German to conduct the proposed research. Scholars in the sciences must provide proof of sufficient English proficiency.
AWARD:
Monthly stipends range from 2,100 to 3,000 euros. Allowances are available for accompanying family members, travel expenses, and German language instruction.
