    • Served in 2003 – 2006 on the NSF Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) panel for Phase 2 and 3 expansions. Also reviewed for the Career Early Development (CAREER), Civil and Mechanical System (CMS), PMP (Particulate and Multiphase Processes) and Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR)/Small Technology Transfer Research (STTR) Phase 1 and 2 programs (Emerging Opportunities and Chemical-based Technologies)
    • Developed the NSF-sponsored website at UTSI listing a comprehensive list of fellowships and awards available for the engineering student body: http://eng.auburn.edu/users/jzm0052/gra/grabins.html (2003–04)
    • Developed the NSF-sponsored library of technical media, CDs and DVDs; these cover topics on vocabulary building, public speech, acoustics, fluid dynamics, propulsion, and stability (2003–06)
    • Developed the NSF Advanced Theoretical Research Laboratory (ATRL) by remodeling and equipping two laboratories spanning 1219 ft2 (2003–05)
    • Gave an invited presentation at the NSF Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) Workshop, “Some Computational Research at UTSI,” Computational Applications and Cyber-infrastructure, Annual EPSCoR Research Meeting, Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN, January 20, 2005

    • Faculty Moderator at Marquette University (1998–03)
    • Taskforce Director for the BalloonSat Launch Program (2002–04). This semi-annual program involves several teams of undergraduate students engaged in a multidisciplinary design of an aerospace-related payload with the purpose of launching it via a high-altitude balloon (100,000 ft). The project also involves tracking, recovering the payload, analyzing the data acquired, and presenting the results
